In the early ’70s, Zog was shaping boards and running a small surf shop in Goleta, California. Next door worked Nate Skinner, a chemist with a curious mind. Between conversations and surf sessions, they realized they were the perfect combo to create something new: a high-performance surf wax made by surfers, for surfers.

Over the following months, Nate experimented with different formulas while Zog tested them in real surf conditions, until they landed on the perfect blend. When the first batch was ready, Zog loaded it into his Ford pickup and hit the road, driving from Santa Cruz to San Diego.

At first, the bold name raised eyebrows, but word of mouth quickly did its thing. What started as a side project between friends soon spread far beyond California, becoming a staple in surf shops around the world. Sex Wax was born — a simple idea, surf-driven, and rooted in pure lifestyle.
